The challenge
The company, a wholesale towel supplier, relies on a third-party logistics partner running Infoplus WMS for order fulfillment but had no automated connection between their Brightpearl OMS and the 3PL's warehouse system. Orders had to be manually communicated to the fulfillment partner, and shipment confirmations and tracking numbers were entered manually into Brightpearl after the 3PL processed each order. The manual process created fulfillment delays and left order status in Brightpearl out of date.
What we built
- Integrated Brightpearl with Infoplus 3PL to automatically transmit new sales orders to the 3PL warehouse system upon fulfillment routing in Brightpearl
- Configured order payload mapping to translate Brightpearl order data into the format required by Infoplus for warehouse picking, packing, and shipping workflow initiation
- Built automated shipment confirmation and tracking number ingestion from Infoplus back into Brightpearl upon 3PL dispatch, updating order records in real time
- Implemented inventory level synchronization from Infoplus back to Brightpearl so on-hand quantities at the 3PL are reflected in Brightpearl's available inventory
- Added exception monitoring and alerting for orders that fail to transmit or receive shipment confirmation within expected timeframes
The outcome
- Automated the order handoff from Brightpearl to the Infoplus 3PL, eliminating manual order communication with the fulfillment partner
- Tracking and shipment confirmation data now flows automatically back into Brightpearl, keeping order status current without manual entry
- Reduced fulfillment lead time by removing the manual coordination step between The company's order management and 3PL warehouse operations
- Improved inventory accuracy in Brightpearl by synchronizing 3PL on-hand quantities automatically
