The challenge
The company sells home improvement products and tools on the Wayfair marketplace but had no automated connection between Wayfair and their Brightpearl order management system. Marketplace orders required manual creation in Brightpearl, and tracking information generated after shipment had to be manually uploaded back to Wayfair. The manual workflow created fulfillment delays, increased the risk of late shipment penalties, and consumed significant staff time.
What we built
- Built a Wayfair-to-Brightpearl integration that automatically imports new Wayfair marketplace orders into Brightpearl as sales orders for immediate fulfillment processing
- Configured inventory level synchronization from Brightpearl to Wayfair so listed quantities reflect real available stock and prevent overselling
- Automated shipment confirmation and carrier tracking number transmission from Brightpearl back to Wayfair upon fulfillment to meet marketplace SLA requirements
- Implemented order acknowledgment automation to notify Wayfair of order receipt within required timeframes, reducing SLA breach risk
- Added monitoring and exception alerting for failed order imports or tracking sync failures to protect marketplace seller performance metrics
The outcome
- Eliminated manual order creation in Brightpearl for Wayfair marketplace sales, cutting fulfillment initiation time from hours to minutes
