The challenge
The company's growing direct-to-consumer Shopify business generated an increasing volume of orders, customer records, and revenue data that required accurate representation in Sage Intacct for financial management and operational reporting. Manual data transfer between Shopify and Sage Intacct introduced lag, reconciliation errors, and administrative burden that constrained the finance team's ability to produce timely and reliable reporting.
What we built
- Integrated Shopify with Sage Intacct to automate end-to-end order-to-cash data synchronization
- Automated sales order creation in Sage Intacct from Shopify orders with accurate product, quantity, and customer mapping
- Implemented customer record sync from Shopify to Sage Intacct with deduplication logic for returning buyers
- Built automated revenue and payment posting from Shopify into Sage Intacct GL accounts
- Created refund and return handling logic to ensure Sage Intacct accurately reflects net eCommerce revenue
