The challenge
The company, a technology solutions provider and value-added reseller, relies on a WooCommerce-to-Sage Intacct integration for their eCommerce and financial operations. As the business needed to evolve integration configurations — adjusting field mappings, business rules, and data transformation logic — making changes directly to the production environment introduced unacceptable risk of disrupting live order and financial data flows. A dedicated staging environment was required to validate changes safely before promotion to production.
What we built
- Designed and provisioned a full staging environment for the WooCommerce-Sage Intacct integration, mirroring the production configuration with isolated credentials and data connections
- Configured the staging environment to connect to Sage Intacct sandbox and WooCommerce test instances, enabling end-to-end integration testing without touching live data
- Established a change management workflow for promoting tested configuration updates from staging to production with documented rollback procedures
- Implemented environment-specific logging and monitoring so staging test runs produced observable output without polluting production audit trails
- Documented the staging environment architecture and promotion procedures to enable the The company team to manage configuration testing independently
