The challenge
The company operated a significant Amazon FBA business but had no automated mechanism to move order, customer, and revenue data from Amazon Seller Central into Sage Intacct for financial reporting and inventory accounting. Finance staff were manually downloading Amazon reports and re-entering data, creating reporting lags and reconciliation burdens that grew with sales volume. Accurate, timely financial records were essential as the business scaled its Amazon operations.
What we built
- Built an automated connector between Amazon Seller Central FBA data and Sage Intacct for continuous order and revenue synchronization
- Implemented order-to-invoice mapping that creates Intacct sales records reflecting Amazon order details, SKUs, and fulfillment status
- Developed customer record sync to maintain accurate buyer data within Intacct without manual entry
- Engineered inventory valuation feeds to update Intacct with FBA stock levels and cost-of-goods data
- Configured Amazon fee and settlement data flows to support accurate net revenue recognition in the GL
The outcome
- Amazon FBA order and revenue data flows into Sage Intacct automatically, eliminating all manual report downloads and re-entry
- Financial reporting on Amazon sales became available in near real time rather than after manual processing cycles
- Inventory accounting accuracy improved with automated stock level and cost updates from FBA
- The finance team was freed from repetitive data entry tasks and could focus on analysis and reporting activities
