    Connect Acumatica + BigCommerce

Automate storefront order, customer record, pricing (price classes / customer pricing), availability / inventory, item and catalog attributes between Acumatica and BigCommerce — with monitoring and managed support from APIWORX.

    See How It Works

APIWORX connects the systems your business already uses and takes responsibility for the agreed integration workflows after go-live. The exact objects, direction and cadence are fixed in writing during scoping.

    APIWORX Provides the Service

Yes. APIWORX connects Acumatica and BigCommerce.

But connecting the applications is only the beginning. The work that costs you time sits in the process running between them.

APIWORX automates that process end to end — the objects moving between Acumatica and BigCommerce, the ownership rules that decide which system wins, the exceptions when a record will not post, and the monitoring that tells someone before your team finds out from a customer.

    Who this is for

This page is for eCommerce and operations teams running BigCommerce with Acumatica as the ERP of record.

What needs to be in place

    • Acumatica with API access and a service account permitted to create the documents in scope.
    • BigCommerce with API credentials scoped to orders, products, customers and inventory as required.
    • A decision on where pricing lives — Acumatica price classes or storefront pricing.
    • Warehouse or 3PL processes able to act on released orders and return shipment detail.

When you may not need this

Small catalogues with simple pricing can run on lighter tooling. This is for teams with customer-specific pricing, several warehouses, or an ops load driven by exceptions rather than volume.

    What is out of scope

    • We do not design or maintain your BigCommerce theme or apps.
    • Tax determination stays with your advisors; we post to the codes you nominate.
    • Which Acumatica documents and endpoints apply depends on your version and configuration, confirmed in scoping.

What actually moves, and who owns it

Three decisions that make or break this integration

    Where pricing lives

For distributors, pricing is the whole argument. Acumatica holds price classes, customer pricing and quantity breaks that the storefront is expected to honour, and duplicating those rules in BigCommerce is how businesses end up quoting two different numbers.

    • Acumatica treated as the pricing source of record where trade pricing applies.
    • Customer price classes mapped to BigCommerce customer groups where supported.
    • Quantity breaks and unit-of-measure behaviour scoped explicitly.
    • Promotional pricing boundaries agreed so marketing keeps the control it needs.

    Availability across warehouses

Acumatica knows what is where; the storefront only knows what was last published. What counts as sellable — which warehouses, whether allocated stock is excluded, what buffer protects other channels — is a business decision made before build.

    • Warehouse filters so only sellable locations feed the storefront.
    • Buffers applied at publish time rather than maintained by hand.
    • Publish cadence chosen against your order pattern.
    • Failed publishes alert the APIWORX team; a stale feed is treated as an incident.

Order processing and status back to the customer

An order becomes an Acumatica document that your fulfilment process already understands, and the resulting shipment detail returns to BigCommerce so customers are not left guessing.

    • Order and payment references written to nominated Acumatica fields.
    • Shipping method mapped to Acumatica ship-via codes.
    • Shipment confirmation and tracking written back to the storefront order.
    • Partial shipments and cancellations handled as explicit cases.

    Reliability and ownership

The operating rules that apply to this workflow after go-live.

    • Every run is logged with the source record reference so an order or document can be traced end to end.
    • Failed messages are retried on a defined schedule; anything that still fails lands in an exception queue rather than being dropped silently.
    • Duplicate prevention keys on the source system's own identifier (order number, PO number, document ID).
    • Exceptions are worked by the APIWORX team and escalated to your named operations contacts when a business decision is needed.
    • Mapping changes — new SKUs, new locations, new partner requirements — are part of the ongoing engagement.
    • Support windows and response commitments live in your agreement; this page does not state an SLA.

    How an order is traced

    Illustrative — not customer data

An illustrative reference trace between BigCommerce and Acumatica.

    How an order is traced
BigCommerce order ID Acumatica sales order reference
BigCommerce product SKU Acumatica inventory ID (mapped)
Acumatica shipment BigCommerce shipment with tracking
    BigCommerce refund Acumatica credit document

    Scope and questions

Can Acumatica customer pricing show on the storefront?
Where price classes and customer pricing exist in Acumatica they can be published, subject to what your BigCommerce configuration supports. Confirmed in scoping.
How is unit of measure handled?
UoM behaviour is scoped explicitly, including how selling units map to Acumatica base units. It is a common source of error, so it is agreed before build.
Do you support B2B on-account ordering?
Payment-terms and on-account behaviour are scoped explicitly, including how credit status is respected. What the storefront can enforce depends on your BigCommerce setup.
    Who maintains mappings afterwards?
APIWORX does, as part of the ongoing engagement. Business-rule approvals stay with you.
