The challenge
The company operated their online storefront on 3DCart (now Shift4Shop), a platform without a native Brightpearl integration, yet needed Brightpearl to manage their order operations, inventory, and fulfillment workflows. The absence of a pre-built connector meant orders were being managed in disconnected systems, creating manual reconciliation overhead and fulfillment delays. A custom connector was required to bridge a non-standard eCommerce platform to their OMS.
What we built
- Developed a custom 3DCart-to-Brightpearl connector to bridge the non-standard eCommerce platform with the OMS
- Implemented real-time order ingestion from 3DCart into Brightpearl, triggering fulfillment workflows automatically upon order placement
- Built bidirectional product and inventory sync to keep 3DCart storefront stock levels aligned with Brightpearl records
- Engineered order status and shipping confirmation callbacks from Brightpearl to 3DCart so customers receive accurate fulfillment updates
- Designed the connector to handle the automotive parts catalog structure, including fitment data and SKU variants
The outcome
- Orders placed on the 3DCart storefront flow automatically into Brightpearl for processing, eliminating manual order entry
- Inventory levels stay synchronized between the storefront and OMS, reducing oversell events
- Fulfillment operations became fully managed within Brightpearl despite the non-standard upstream eCommerce platform
- The team gained a scalable integration foundation that could support catalog growth without additional manual overhead
