The challenge
The company, a recognized Sage Intacct implementation partner, needed to connect BigCommerce to Sage Intacct for one of their professional services firm clients — enabling eCommerce transactions to flow automatically into the ERP for accurate financial management, reporting, and compliance. Without this integration, eCommerce sales data had to be manually exported and entered into Sage Intacct, creating a time-consuming reconciliation burden and introducing the risk of entry errors in the client's financial records.
What we built
- Deployed a BigCommerce–Sage Intacct integration that automatically transfers eCommerce orders and sales data into Sage Intacct as they are placed
- Configured customer record sync between BigCommerce and Sage Intacct to maintain a consistent customer database across the eCommerce and financial management layers
- Mapped BigCommerce product and order data to the appropriate Sage Intacct GL accounts, dimensions, and entities to support accurate financial reporting
- Automated invoice and revenue recognition entry within Sage Intacct based on order and payment status from BigCommerce
- Validated the integration against the client's Sage Intacct configuration to ensure compliance with their chart of accounts and multi-entity structure
The outcome
- Eliminated manual export and re-entry of eCommerce sales data into Sage Intacct, saving the client's finance team significant administrative time
- Achieved accurate, real-time financial records in Sage Intacct that reflect eCommerce activity as orders are placed and paid
- Enabled the professional services firm to maintain clean, audit-ready financial data across their eCommerce and ERP systems
- Demonstrated The company's ability to deliver end-to-end Sage Intacct implementation that includes eCommerce connectivity for clients with mixed sales channels
