Sage IntacctiTrade Network
The challenge
The company sells organic herbs and fresh produce through the iTrade Network, the produce industry's specialized B2B trading and compliance platform, and manages their financials in Sage Intacct. A critical operational issue emerged in their integration: purchase order acknowledgments flowing from Sage Intacct back through iTrade Network were returning incorrect shipping addresses — defaulting to billing addresses rather than the intended ship-to locations. In the fresh produce supply chain, where delivery accuracy is time-sensitive and logistically complex, incorrect address handling was creating real operational risk.
What we built
- Diagnosed the root cause of the address resolution error within the Sage Intacct–iTrade Network integration, identifying the logic defaulting to billing address fields on PO acknowledgments
- Built custom address handling logic that correctly identifies and returns the ship-to address from Sage Intacct records when generating purchase order acknowledgments for iTrade Network
- Validated the custom address resolution across multiple order scenarios, including orders with distinct bill-to and ship-to locations, to ensure consistent accuracy
- Tested end-to-end acknowledgment flows within the iTrade Network environment to confirm correct address data was received by produce trading partners
- Documented the custom configuration to support ongoing maintenance and future integration changes
The outcome
- Resolved the critical address handling error, ensuring purchase order acknowledgments carry correct ship-to addresses through the iTrade Network
- Eliminated the operational risk of misrouted fresh produce shipments caused by billing address defaults
- Improved trading partner confidence in The company' order processing accuracy within the iTrade Network ecosystem
- Established a reliable Sage Intacct–iTrade integration capable of handling the address complexity inherent in the fresh produce supply chain
