The The company operates a BigCommerce bookstore alongside donation and subscription revenue streams, all of which required manual reconciliation into Sage Intacct. Finance staff spent significant time re-entering sales, donation, and subscription data into their non-profit accounting system, creating reconciliation delays and audit risk. A seamless, automated connection between their storefront and fund accounting platform was essential to support mission-driven operations.
What we built
- Built a real-time integration between BigCommerce and Sage Intacct that automatically posts online sales orders as journal entries aligned to the organization's fund accounting structure
- Implemented automated donation and subscription revenue recognition flows that map each revenue type to the correct non-profit chart-of-accounts segments in Sage Intacct
- Configured customer record synchronization so donor and subscriber profiles created in BigCommerce are reflected in Sage Intacct without manual data entry
- Established automated daily reconciliation summaries delivered to finance staff, reducing period-close preparation effort
- Designed error-handling and exception alerting so any failed transaction is surfaced immediately for review rather than silently dropped
