The challenge
The company publishes and distributes academic theological titles through Amazon Vendor Central, a supplier-side program with specific EDI requirements for purchase order acknowledgment, advance ship notices, and inventory collaboration. Managing these EDI transactions manually and reconciling them against Brightpearl inventory records created administrative burden for a lean publishing team and introduced the risk of non-compliance with Amazon's Vendor Central requirements.
What we built
- Integrated Amazon Vendor Central EDI workflows with Brightpearl so incoming Amazon purchase orders were automatically acknowledged and recorded in Brightpearl
- Built advance ship notice (ASN) generation logic within Brightpearl to produce and transmit compliant ASNs to Amazon Vendor Central upon shipment
- Implemented inventory availability collaboration feeds from Brightpearl to Vendor Central, keeping Amazon's supply chain systems aligned with SVOTS stock levels
- Configured order confirmation and receipt data flows so Brightpearl financial records reflected Vendor Central order fulfillment status accurately
- Established EDI transaction logging and error alerting to notify the team of any compliance exceptions requiring attention
